Indian Politics

In the land where promises bloom
Elections arrive with thunderous boom
Leaders emerge, a dazzling parade
Each with a dream too finely displayed

“Garibi hatao,” they chant once more
While poverty knocks at every door
Roads were laid where cameras flash
Soon to crumble, like paper to ash

Manifestos thick with lofty schemes
Reality shatters these fragile dreams
Freebies fly, a cunning bait
While coffers drain at alarming rates

Parties switch like seasons change
Enemies once, now Allies strange
Debates turn into shouting shows
Who wins the fight? Nobody knows

Farmers toiled, their cries unheard
Jobs remained an unspoken word
While power games in Delhi unfold
The common man’s story is left untold

Dynasties thrive in democracy’s name
Nepotism plays its usual game
Promises big, intentions small
For them, it’s politics; for us, it’s all

Yet hope endures in every heart
That their chosen leaders will play their part
Until then, we watch the circus spin
In Indian politics, where few truly win
