Mukund, as he moved to the big city was wondering the way life takes turns. He grew up in protected environment amid Sanatani Culture and was taught core values from the Sanatani Scriptures. But today he was in this big city where those teachings and learnings were getting redefined and he was able to derive meaning of the learnings he had as he grew up.
He could see the group across from him who seemed to be of rich brats drinking and having fun with girls and boys behaving like weird per his books of character. He could see them boozing and fooling around as if there is no tomorrow. He just shrugged and thought is this what he is going to be pet of. As he was about to leave, he saw a young girl from the group stumble and fall in the pool of water near by. He sensed that probably he is the only person to be in sanity to jump in that pool and save her. It is what he did – Saving Life is equivalent to praying God, was the echo in his mind then.
That incident started a newer era in Mukund’s life and he got involved with that group on their outing. His feeling of loneliness disappeared and he was more lively, just like he was in his village where he grew up. But, one thing was for sure, he didn’t drop his Sanatani Attire and Behavior, he still wasn’t to drink or smoke and respected girls around. Never stepped out from his boundaries.
With the passage of time the girl whom he had saved developed feelings for him and used to spend time with him sharing her feelings and pain points. Shreya, that was her name and she was the daughter of his client as he learned. Shreya was the only child of the business tycoon having business across continents and a turnover of around Rs 600crore at that time. But, Mukund was not startled by that money. He took every day as a new opportunity to work towards his goals and serve God’s mission defined for him.
The crowd used to be regular in their gathering and used to have fun around with the Witt and Black humor they learned from Mukund. They also started going to temples on specific occasions with Mukund and learn basic steps towards importance of Sanatan Values. The group was happy go luck as such, and no one knew what’s brewing up with Shreya.
One fine day Shreya called Mukund as Mukund was about to retire in bed for the day. She sounded very sad and scared and asked Mukund if he can meet her at her place. Mukund as a Good Samaritan rushed to her place and tried to cajole her. He asked about whereabouts of her parents and she updated that her Father was on a business trip while mother has gone to a page 3 party. She escorted him to her room and they sat down talking when suddenly Shreya asked him – “Mukund, I want to marry you, Would you marry me?”
Mukund looked around with his mind telling him it could be a prank. He looked under the bed and around the bed as he asked Shreya – “What will I get if I marry you?” He was hurt hearing Shreya state – “You would get me, my father’s wealth and own his business if you marry me”. Mukund still counting it as a prank replied – “God has given me two eyes, two hands, two legs, and over that a great mind and spine that I can make this money the day I want. What is so special in it that I will get to marry you?”
There Mukund was shocked when Shreya got up in front of him and dropped her gown saying – “You will get this.” But Mukund handled himself got up from his seat, slapped Shreya real hard and walked out telling her -“Don’t dare to contact me again. I am not the one to be bought by money or anything else.”
Mukund was deviated for next few days that his character was assassinated by some he trusted on. That someone didn’t understand what he is, even though he mixed with the crowd in the city, his stature was always tall. As he was trying to get out of that situation, he got the call from Shreya’s father to meet. Mukund told him to meet in Public if he had anything to discuss. They met and as Shreya’s father tried to convince Mukund, Mukund told him that he is winding up his operations from that city and moving on with life. He can’t continue to live in that city and keep on hurting his Self Respect. As he was to leave at the end on a non-conclusive meeting, he heard Shreya’s father – “I know today I just didn’t lose a great Service Provider, but a son to my insensitive upbringing and irresponsible attitude towards parenting my daughter. Please forgive me”.
